Tikam isteri 13 kali, lelaki didakwa bunuh

G Vikneswaran, a 43-year-old man with a 13-year-old son, appeared in Kulim High Court on Friday, charged with the murder of his wife, S Sila, 39. The accused, who remains silent when the charges were read out, had previously been represented by counsel. No plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal.

According to the prosecution, Vikneswaran allegedly committed the murder by causing the death of his wife between 6:30 pm and 9:04 pm on September 14th at their home. The case was brought under Section 302 of the Penal Code. If convicted, he could face the death penalty or imprisonment for at least 30 years but no more than 40 years, with a minimum of 12 years if not sentenced to death.

The alternate prosecutor, Preeyaa, did not offer any guarantees to the accused. The retrial was set for December 8th to await the autopsy report and toxicology findings. Earlier, reports indicated that the woman had died after being beaten 13 times by her husband at their residence.
