Taylor Swift to Receive Inaugural Artist Director Honors at 2026 MTV VMAs

MTV and CBS announced on Monday that Taylor Swift will receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors at the 2026 Video Music Awards. This new award recognizes artists who have made significant contributions behind the camera, expanding the possibilities of music videos and advancing visual storytelling. Swift, a seven-time nominee and four-time VMAs winner for Best Director, has taken increasing control over her visual content, directing many of her music videos, including "The Fate of Ophelia," "Opalite," "The Man," "cardigan," "willow," "Anti-Hero," "Bejeweled," "Lavender Haze," "I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)," "Karma (feat.
