The positions immediately following Las Vegas and Minnesota are closely contested, with only two games separating fourth-place Atlanta from eighth-place Dallas. Within this tight race, Atlanta, New York, Washington, and Dallas are all tied in record as of Monday. The Liberty, Mystics, and Wings also share the same record.

This weekend features two crucial series that could significantly impact the playoff picture. Minnesota will play Indiana in a home-and-home series on Tuesday and Thursday, and New York will face Atlanta twice. Those matchups will provide a taste of playoff intensity and help set the stage for the postseason.

Atlanta's Karl Smekso expressed optimism about playing a game with playoff stakes before the postseason begins.
