Syarat Baucar Kita Selangor diperluas untuk bantu lebih banyak keluarga

Selangor's Baucar Kita (BKS) program has expanded its eligibility criteria to assist more families grappling with rising living costs, according to Anfaal Saari, chair of the Women's Development and Community Welfare Exco. The initiative aims to help those impacted by economic pressures and instability following global supply chain disruptions.

The first phase prioritizes identifiable vulnerable groups, including single mothers and senior citizens, through registration. Subsequently, the application opened to households earning below RM5,000 per annum. The targeted approach ensures priority assistance to the most vulnerable before broadening access to higher-earning households, according to Anfaal.

Each widening of eligibility criteria expands the eligible group without reducing the eligibility of those previously qualified, the statement said. Applications from those still under review or initially disqualified will be reassessed according to the new eligibility criteria. Key requirements for BKS applications include Malaysian citizenship, registration as a voter, and residency in Selangor.

The household must have at least one child under 18 years old and an overall income of RM8,000 or less. Each household may only receive one beneficiary, not a Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (BKS) recipient.
