Autobahn traffic forecast predicts congestion on several highways over the upcoming weekend (25th to 27th of September). The ADAC (Association of German Automobile Clubs) foresees a relatively high risk of traffic jams. Drivers should prepare for "patience instead of free travel" as there will be lively traffic and around 1,000 construction sites.

Multiple major highways will be completely blocked. Both the ADAC and Auto Club Europa (ACE) anticipate moderate overall travel, with the peak expected on Friday afternoon when professional drivers mix with holidaymakers. Pleasant temperatures, attractive off-season prices, and good weather in many regions will keep traffic flowing towards the coast, Alps, and central mountain ranges.

In Munich, the second week of Oktoberfest will result in increased traffic and an overburdened public transportation system.

The ADAC cites Munich as one of the areas to expect heavy traffic volume and a highly congested public transport system. Construction sites and complete blockages contribute to delays. On the A7, the entire stretch from Hamburg-Stellingen to Hamburg-Heimfeld - including the Elbtunnel - will be blocked in both directions, starting from 22:00 on Friday, 25th of September and ending at 5:00 on Monday, 28th of September.
