Speeding Car Ploughs Into Ganesh Pandal, Injures Seven In MP’s Mandsaur

Piplia Mandi, Madhya Pradesh: A speeding car plowed into a Ganesh festival pandal near Balaji Temple in Supra village on Sunday night, injuring seven people, including a 13-year-old girl. One woman suffered serious injuries and was transferred to Udaipur for treatment, while others received care at Mandsaur District Hospital. The accident happened around 11.30 pm during prasad distribution.

The vehicle lost control at a turn, crashing into the pandal and hitting a structure outside the temple. The car's oil spilled onto the road, and its driver, Arjun Singh, 32, from Sujanpura, was apprehended by villagers. Another individual allegedly fled the scene. Villagers accused the driver of being intoxicated and assaulted him before the police took custody.

On Monday, protesters demanded severe action against the driver, proper medical care, and accountability for alleged police misconduct. They blocked the highway for about two hours, leading to long queues. ASP Tersingh Baghel, SDOP Pintu Baghel, and TI Vikram Singh Inve arrived at the scene and promised action. The protesters lifted the blockade around 1.30 pm.

Police filed a case against Arjun Singh under various sections, and the matter is under investigation.
