Pakistan Railways Restores Mohenjo Daro Express After 6 Months

Pakistan Railways has reinstated the Mohenjo Daro Express, a train that had been halted for six months because of low passenger numbers. The service began again on Sunday from Rohri station, carrying six coaches packed with several hundred travelers. Upon reaching Larkana in the afternoon, a crowd of well-wishers greeted both passengers and railway staff.

The community's push for the train's return came in the form of multiple rallies across the province, where locals demanded its revival. Upon the train's arrival, passengers showered rose petals on the driver, crew, and passengers alike. Railway personnel, including Station Master Ayaz Abbasi, also joined in the festivities, while the area was filled with the sound of traditional Sindhi music.

The campaigners expressed relief that the suspension had caused inconvenience for many commuters who relied on the train for economical travel between Rohri and Kotri. They extended their gratitude to the federal government and the railways minister for their support during the restoration process. They also urged passengers to choose the Mohenjo Daro Express on a regular basis to guarantee its financial viability and continued operation.

The activists further advocated for the enhancement of the Larkana-Karachi railway tracks, so that other services, such as the Bolan Mail and Khushhal Khan Khattak Express, could also utilize the route.
