Interior Minister Naqvi warns PTI against Sept 27 protest call, urges party to ‘change course'

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi cautioned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party against organizing a long march on September 27, urging them to reconsider their plans. The warning came during a press conference as the party prepared for a nationwide protest and march towards Islamabad, demanding the release of their founder, Imran Khan.

Naqvi emphasized that PTI could never achieve anything through such actions and advised the party to avoid setting themselves on a "dead-end street." He asserted that the government would not leave any loopholes in its response if the party proceeded with the protest. Although Naqvi believed that the party's leadership was against the march, he warned that if they went ahead, the government would ensure the implementation of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) order.

He appealed to PTI to adopt a different approach, urging them not to harm themselves or their workers. When asked if the government had a long-term solution to the party's frequent protest calls, Naqvi expressed hope for a permanent resolution and stated that they would not leave the matter halfway. He clarified that PTI's demand was for Imran Khan to undergo a medical check-up at a hospital, which may have already been fulfilled as the check-up could have been conducted during the night.

Naqvi reiterated that the government would adhere to the law, but they would not act simply based on the party's demands.
