Hannah Yeoh: Loke’s resignation offer was DAP CEC’s final decision, must be respected

Putrajaya, Sept 21 — The DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) has made a final decision regarding the resignation of DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke as Transport Minister, according to Hannah Yeoh, Deputy Secretary-General of the CEC. At a press conference on the 2026 Deepavali Bazaar, Yeoh stated that the CEC held an extensive meeting to hear various proposals and views before reaching a conclusion.

"The CEC held a lengthy meeting, and various proposals and views were put forward. The final decision, the CEC’s decision; this is the highest decision-making body, was that YB Anthony Loke offered to resign," she said. Yeoh emphasized that the CEC, as the highest decision-making body, holds the final say in such matters, and they must respect the decision made.

She declined to disclose further details about the discussions at the meeting, stating that they were part of the deliberations within the CEC. The CEC's decision came in response to the party's stance on granting a conditional pardon to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. When Loke offered to resign as a member of the Cabinet, he specified that the resignation would not affect the positions of other DAP ministers and deputy ministers, who would continue to serve in the government to maintain political stability.
