HanmiGlobal manages SK hynix HBM plant construction in Indiana

HanmiGlobal, a leading global construction project management firm, has announced it will oversee the development of SK hynix's new high-bandwidth memory (HBM) advanced packaging plant in West Lafayette, Indiana. The groundbreaking ceremony for the facility took place on August 27 at Purdue University's Holloway Gymnasium. The facility will serve as SK hynix's first artificial intelligence memory production base in the United States and represents an investment of over $4 billion.

Construction began in March, with the cleanroom expected to be completed in October 2028. HanmiGlobal entered the project during the pre-construction stage in August 2024 and will manage all aspects of the construction process until the cleanroom's completion in 2028. Their responsibilities include design management, schedule and cost control, quality and safety management, and risk management.

Additionally, HanmiGlobal coordinates the efforts of SK hynix's Korean and U.S. partners involved in the project. With major Korean high-tech companies expanding their presence in the United States, the demand for advanced memory production facilities is expected to grow.
