Olawale Ajimotokan, in Abuja, clarified that Wike's Rainbow Coalition is not intended to weaken the ruling party, as some APC governors have expressed concern. At a press conference after inspecting various projects in Abuja, Wike stated that the coalition is a cross-party platform aimed at mobilizing support for President Bola Tinubu.

He affirmed that his primary concern ahead of the 2027 elections is to ensure Tinubu secures a second term, a position he has made clear from the start. Wike questioned the criticism of the coalition, emphasizing its purpose to bring together APC members and like-minded individuals from other parties who support Tinubu's re-election.

He dismissed speculation about positioning himself for the 2031 presidential election, stating that political decisions would depend on unforeseen future circumstances. Wike suggested that the successor of Tinubu in 2031 would also involve the president's interest in the successor. He promised to reveal the "undertones" behind opposition to the Rainbow Coalition during a televised appearance, aiming to inform Nigerians about the underlying concerns.
