CNN, MS NOW and Politico to sue over White House ban

MS NOW, CNN, and Politico have filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration in response to President Donald Trump's announcement that they would be banned from the White House's building grounds. The three news organizations informed the government of their intent to sue in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, anticipating possible emergency hearings in the matter, according to CNN. White House representatives did not respond to a request for comment outside normal business hours.

On Friday, President Trump posted on social media that other "Fake News Media Outlets" would face a similar ban, though he did not specify which ones. CNN declared the ban to be an "illegal assault" on its constitutional right to report the news without government interference. Both MS NOW and Politico vowed to defend their first amendment rights. CNN and MS NOW announced they would continue reporting on the Trump administration, while Politico reaffirmed its commitment to covering the White House with its reporters.
