Brazilian serial killer who dressed as a woman lived in the woods and was nicknamed “mosquito”

Brazilian authorities claim that Jorlan Lopes da Silva, a 33-year-old man, killed 16 people using a disguise as a woman, earning him the nickname "mosquito" from locals due to his weak physique. Police investigator Douglas Garcia revealed that da Silva resided in the woods to evade capture, making it challenging for authorities to locate him and connect him to the crimes.

The killings occurred within the last three months in a secluded area of Mulungu, Paraiba, northeastern Brazil. Da Silva allegedly confessed to murdering his first victim at the age of 13, but evidence suggests he may have targeted non-criminals as well. He was apprehended wearing a black dress, white stripes, a wig, and painted nails, holding a baby that was not his.

Da Silva claims he is involved in a personal vendetta, not affiliated with any criminal gang, and that he began his killing spree at age 13. The identities and circumstances surrounding the victims' deaths remain confidential to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
