Apple Vision Pro has a bright future says Apple CEO Ternus, but it's a long journey

Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, recently sat down for a detailed interview with French outlet Clique TV, and in it, he provided a compelling defense of Apple's Vision Pro. The device, while not commercially successful like the iPhone or iPad, is hailed as a technological marvel with a dedicated fan base. In the past, Tim Cook had attributed Vision Pro's tepid sales to its status as an "early adopter product."

However, Ternus's recent comments offer a more compelling reason for the device's existence. During the interview, French journalist Mouloud Achour asked Ternus, "Is Vision Pro a test, a flop, or the future of what's to come—a computer?" Ternus responded, "It's an amazing device, but I see it as akin to the early days of computers.

It's the beginning of a long journey." He then drew parallels to the early days of computing, such as desktop publishing, stating that Vision Pro is now playing a similar transformative role. Surgeons are already using Vision Pro in surgery, finding it a superior tool compared to traditional monitors. Additionally, filmmakers are utilizing the device for set development.

Ternus acknowledged the early nature of Vision Pro's adoption but expressed optimism, citing the device's potential for further growth and expanded use cases. He echoed Cook's previous comments about early adopters but added a more forward-looking perspective, likening the future of Vision Pro to the evolution of personal computers.

While the full realization of Vision Pro's capabilities may still be years away, Ternus confidently asserts that it will play a pivotal role in the future of spatial computing.
