Alexander Blessin set to become Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach

Borussia Mönchengladbach are on the verge of appointing Alexander Blessin as their new head coach, according to Sky Germany. The former St. Pauli head coach will soon be replacing Eugen Polanski, who was recently dismissed following three consecutive defeats that marked the beginning of Gladbach's season. Currently, Gladbach is at the bottom of the Bundesliga after another loss to Mainz 05 during matchday four.

Blessin and Gladbach have a verbal agreement in place, with the remaining details pending confirmation before he signs the contract. Gladbach's sporting director, Rouven Schröder, values Blessin's clear communication, structured approach, and his playing philosophy, which he acquired during his tenure as a coach at the Red Bull Academy in Leipzig.

Blessin will assume his new role during an international break lasting three weeks, allowing him ample time to familiarize himself with his new environment. His inaugural match in charge will be an away game against FC Köln, who currently have four points to their name.
