Zelensky and Trump agree to meet in New York

Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump have agreed to meet in New York, according to Ukrinform. The Ukrainian president reported on Facebook that they had an "important conversation" and made significant progress. Zelensky expressed hope that this meeting could bring about major changes in the Ukrainian-American relations. He thanked Trump for sending his special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Kyiv.

Both sides discussed the key details of the situation in Ukraine, with Zelensky emphasizing that the peace track is their top priority. They touched upon de-escalation measures and crucial security issues, such as energy, food security, and human life protection. The Ukrainian and American teams are reportedly working together and are ready to take serious steps towards resolving the conflict.

Zelensky also expressed gratitude to Trump for signing the Graham sanctions bill. Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the meetings held by the special envoys in early September as substantive, hoping that they would facilitate renewed negotiations.
