[UPDATED] Three family members killed in Tambun house fire

IPOH – A devastating house fire in Tambun claimed the lives of three family members, while sparing one survivor, according to reports from the Perak Fire and Rescue Department. The blaze destroyed a two-storey terrace house on Taman Desa Tambun early this morning, leaving authorities scrambling to contain the inferno. The deceased were identified as Raja Ahmad Raja Ali, 70, Zaitun Mohamed, 64, and Nik Abdurrahman Azimin Harith Helal, 18.

Their sole survivor, Raja Ikhwan Hadi Raja Ahmad, 47, was found sleeping on the front porch of the home during the incident. Firefighters from the Tambun and Ipoh stations responded to the emergency call at 4am, arriving at the scene just 10 minutes later to find nearly 70% of the 20ft by 70ft home engulfed in flames. Among the four occupants present at the time, three were found deceased - Raja Ahmad inside a bathroom on the ground floor, the 18-year-old male and the 64-year-old female upstairs, with one body in the upstairs bathroom and another in a bedroom near a window.

The fire was extinguished by 4.45am, with firefighters cutting through a locked door of a neighboring unoccupied house to facilitate the firefighting operation. Over 25 firefighters and five vehicles were deployed, including specialized rescue vehicles. The victims' remains were later turned over to the police forensic team for further examination.
