Security forces kill 5 terrorists, recover 23 abductees in operation along N-25 highway near Kalat: ISPR

Security forces in Balochistan killed five terrorists and rescued 23 kidnapped people during a recent operation near the N-25 Karachi-Chaman highway, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The terrorists belonged to the Fitna-al-Hindustan group, which the state has designated as an India-sponsored proxy. The terrorists had established a checkpost along the highway for the purpose of abduction, ransom, extortion, and vehicle theft.

After a fierce exchange of fire, the terrorists were eliminated. In addition to the five killed, 23 abductees were rescued from the terrorists' hideout, along with six trucks, three buses, and two cars, as well as substantial amounts of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. The operation was part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, which the ISPR said would continue in full resolve to eliminate foreign-sponsored and foreign-supported terrorism from the country.

Balochistan has been grappling with security challenges and terrorism, which has led to an increase in terrorist attacks in the province, according to a recent assessment.
