Nurse Tonia returns with Jesus Na Otokinado

Gospel artiste Ann Uwa-Anthony, known as Nurse Tonia, has returned to the music industry with a new single titled "Jesus Na Otokinado." This resurgence comes after a hiatus during which she pursued a nursing career and eventually relocated to the United States. In an interview, Nurse Tonia shared that the decision to reenter the music scene was a long-held dream that she finally fulfilled.

Born into a musical family, Tonia moved to Lagos at the age of 15 after their father's death in Benin, Edo State. The siblings faced hardships during their initial years in the city, often performing at local shows and bars to make ends meet and hone their skills. Their dedication led to Tonia registering with PMAN in the 1990s, but financial limitations prevented her from advancing her music career at the time.

She expressed that if the financial support had been available, she would have pursued this project years ago. Nurse Tonia explained that her songwriting is driven by divine inspiration. She often experiences melodies while at work, takes note of them on her device, and then expands on them to create the full song.
