Charles Spencer accuses King of gaslighting over Diana

Charles Spencer, the Earl of Spencer, has accused King Charles of gaslighting him after the Palace rejected his claims that the King had said, "we'll forget her soon enough" following Diana, Princess of Wales' death. In his memoir, Spencer detailed a series of damaging claims about the King, which prompted the Palace's response stating that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason.

Now, Spencer has accused the King of gaslighting, calling the Palace's response a "rather poor imitation of the recollections may vary quote" used in the late Queen's response to Prince Harry and Meghan's allegations. Spencer emphasized that it was astonishingly provocative and below the belt, as it essentially accused him of lying without allowing him to deny the claims.
