No PH-Bersatu talks on political cooperation, says Fahmi

Pakatan Harapan (PH) has not engaged in any discussions regarding political cooperation with Bersatu, ahead of the upcoming Melaka state election and the 16th general election (GE16), according to PH communications director Fahmi Fadzil. Although PH has not ruled out the possibility of such cooperation, there have been no efforts made towards this end thus far, as reported by Berita Harian.

The prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, who serves as the Pakatan Harapan election director, are set to visit Masjid Tanah in Melaka for a program. Fahmi suggested that the prime minister and Shari may possess additional insights not shared by Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin. Muhyiddin had previously expressed openness to negotiations with any party willing to cooperate, stating that Bersatu could not contest GE16 independently and was open to forming alliances for its survival.

He assured party members that while Bersatu would seek allies, it would not compromise on its principles. Additionally, Muhyiddin indicated that Bersatu had already discussed potential electoral cooperation with Muda, while Putra had indicated its willingness to collaborate with Bersatu.
