No PH-Bersatu talks on political cooperation, says Fahmi

PH communications director Fahmi Fadzil stated that there have been no talks between Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu regarding political cooperation prior to the Melaka state election and the 16th general election (GE16). Although the coalition is not ruling out the possibility of political cooperation, no efforts have been made towards such a move so far, according to Berita Harian.

Fahmi mentioned that the prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, and Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari, who serves as the Pakatan Harapan election director, will attend a program in Masjid Tanah, Melaka tonight. He added that they may have additional information beyond what was disclosed by Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin. Muhyiddin had previously expressed openness to negotiations with any party willing to cooperate, but emphasized that any ties must be based on sincerity.

He stated that Bersatu could not contest GE16 alone and was open to negotiations with any willing party to cooperate, assuring members that they would seek allies while maintaining their principles. Muhyiddin also mentioned that Bersatu had previously discussed potential electoral cooperation with Muda, and Putra had indicated its willingness to work with Bersatu.
