MEA Internship 2026: Apply for October intake by Sept 27

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has opened applications for the MEA Internship 2026, set to run from October 2026 to March 2027. Students in their final year of college or recent graduates may apply until September 27 on the official MEA internship website, internship.mea.gov.in. Eligibility requires Indian citizenship, a bachelor's degree from an accredited university, and for final-year students, the internship to be a mandatory part of their curriculum. Candidates must be 25 years old or younger on December 31 of the internship year.

Applicants will undergo an online selection process with two stages: preliminary screening and a videoconferencing personal interview. Fifteen states and four Union Territories are covered under the quota for this term. A maximum of 30 candidates will be selected, with priority given to candidates from Transformation of Aspirational Districts Programme (TADP) districts and SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories during the interview stage.

At least 30% of the internships may be filled by women candidates. Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 and the cost of one round-trip airfare between Delhi and their domicile state or college/university.
