Delicious or Disaster unveils N10m prize for third season

Delicious or Disaster, the popular cooking competition show, has announced the details for its third season, which includes a substantial prize pool of N10 million. The show, hosted and executive-produced by Chef T (Tolani Tayo-Osikoya), will premiere on September 25, with new episodes airing every Friday at 6 pm. The show's expansion was evident as it welcomed 40 contestants, divided into four per episode, with one winner emerging from each episode.

Unlike other cooking competitions where the grand prize is awarded at the end of the season, Delicious or Disaster offers a N1 million prize at the conclusion of each episode. The expansion of the show was evident in the substantial response it received, with over 500 entries received for the new season. After a rigorous review process, the organizers narrowed down the contestants to 40.

Chef T emphasized the significant expansion of season three, noting that the show had evolved from a passion project into a full-fledged production. She explained that the show's success was due to the commitment and vision of the sponsors, who invested in the project despite not seeing the final outcome. The competition will now feature a wider range of contestants, including mothers, fathers, young adults, chefs, and food enthusiasts, making it more inclusive and family-friendly.

The show's focus on Nigerian food culture and local ingredients will continue, with the organizers aiming to educate viewers about Nigerian dishes and ingredients. This approach not only enriches the show's content but also highlights the potential for growth in Nigeria's culinary industry. Ruth Abisola Olusanya, the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of the culinary sector in transforming agricultural products into meals and experiences.
