Completion, quality of uplift projects in Karachi: Sindh govt paying special attention, says Nasir

Karachi's Karachi Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, conducted an extensive inspection of major development projects in Scheme 33, Malir Memon Goth, Munawar Underpass, and surrounding areas. Local Government Director General Zain-ul-Abideen Ansari and relevant officials provided detailed information on the progress, quality, and pace of work on these infrastructure schemes.

The projects include an 11.54-kilometre-long road in Malir Memon Goth, estimated at Rs1,428 million, and four major roads with a combined cost of Rs1,987 million. Officials stated that 70% of the dual carriageway project was already completed and efforts were being made to finish it ahead of schedule. A bridge was being constructed along with the road at Thado Nala to alleviate transportation issues in the area.

During the inspection, Shah visited the Munawar Underpass and directed authorities to expedite construction, ensuring the work met required standards and improved traffic flow. Shah emphasized the Sindh government's focus on both the completion and quality of development projects in Karachi, with regular inspections to monitor progress.

He highlighted that new roads, bridges, and underpasses were being constructed, and existing areas were linked with major arteries like the M-9 Motorway and Super Highway. Shah also mentioned that local government institutions were being empowered to play a more effective role in providing basic civic facilities to residents.
