Colorado football players trash talk backfires after blowout loss at Northwestern

The Colorado Buffaloes football team's trash talking before a game at Northwestern backfired miserably after the Buffs' 41-7 devastating loss. Despite the difficult weather, the game proceeded without delay. However, Colorado's expectations had been sky-high going into Northwestern's Week 3 contest. Before kickoff, Buffaloes players were bashing Northwestern for playing on a temporary field, with one player yelling "This place f*cking sucks" and another declaring, "S---sounds like a f------ library."

Northwestern dominated from the opening kickoff, controlling the game from the start and exposing Colorado's Go-Go offense. This marked the first time Brennan Marion's scheme had been exposed. Coach Deion Sanders described the loss as a "butt kicking" in his post-game press conference. Sanders, who doesn't appreciate profanity, wasn't amused by the video of his players' trash talk.

This could lead to personnel changes from the coach. The Buffs travel to Baylor for their Big 12 opener, a game that will be their first in Waco since rejoining the conference in 2024.
