Blue Jays 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exits early at Texas with left lower back tightness

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left the game early on Sunday due to tightness in his left lower back during the series finale against the Texas Rangers. The move came in the bottom of the fourth inning, with Guerrero replaced in the field. Myles Straw took his spot in left field, Josh Smith shifted from there to third base, and Kazuma Okamoto moved from third to first base, where Guerrero had been playing.

Guerrero had a hit in the first inning and also drove in a run with a comebacker to Jacob deGrom in the third. This season, Guerrero is batting .263 with nine home runs and 56 RBIs. Okamoto appeared in just one inning at first base before Charles McAdoo pinch-hit for Smith in the fifth inning and then returned to first base himself.
