8-year-old among two electrocuted to death near Ganpati Pandal in Mumbai's Lalbaug

Mumbai's Ganesh festival celebrations in the Lalbaug area turned tragic on Sunday when an electrical shock near a pandal claimed two lives and left four others injured. An 8-year-old girl, Raghni Ghanshyam Yadav, died at Masina Hospital, while four others, including two women and two men aged between 19 and 20, were hospitalized with severe burn injuries.

A second victim, a woman admitted to Global Hospital in Parel, later succumbed to her injuries. The incident occurred around 2 am on Sunday when a group of five people, aged 8 to 20, reportedly came into contact with the electrical current. Doctors declared the girl dead upon arrival at the hospital. Among the injured, one girl was in critical condition and was transferred to Global Hospital in Parel for further treatment.

The condition of the remaining three hospitalized victims remains serious. Further details on the incident, including the circumstances leading to the electrical current, are awaited.
