2027: ‘Not from us’ – NDC disowns Presidential Campaign Council set up by OK Movement

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has distanced itself from the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, established by the OK Movement ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to a statement released on Saturday. The party's National Chairman, Cleopas Moses, affirmed in the statement that the announcement made by John Ugulu was unauthorized and did not originate from the party.

Moses emphasized that in the future, no individual or group will be authorized to announce, establish, or publish any campaign structure or organization under the party's name without the consent of the party's National Working Committee, NWC. The statement further stated that the NDC does not endorse the PCC and urges the public and media to disregard it.

The party clarified that all candidates must understand they are not running as independent candidates but are products of the party and must adhere to the party's authority and discipline. Any candidate or support group undermining the party or attempting to delineate its boundaries will not be tolerated. The NDC recognizes the contributions of all support groups and encourages their continued support, welcoming additional groups that align with the party's mission to rescue Nigeria.

The party emphasized that while it will collaborate with support groups, they should not perceive themselves as alternative party structures or parallel organs.
