2027: INEC assures Nigerians of electoral integrity

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pledged its dedication to ensuring electoral integrity in the upcoming 2027 general elections in Nigeria. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, made this commitment during a meeting at the Commission's National Situation Room in Abuja on Saturday. According to a statement from the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Adedayo Oketola, Amupitan emphasized the Commission's proactive approach to addressing operational issues that arose prior to the by-elections held in Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Delta states.

Amupitan highlighted the Commission's role in monitoring and resolving any administrative or field challenges that emerged. Reflecting on the recent four legislative by-elections, Amupitan stressed that these elections served as critical tests for the Commission, providing essential lessons for the 2027 general election. He stressed that no election should be underestimated, as each one contributes to the Commission's preparations for the significant 2027 general election.

The INEC Chairman, along with National Commissioners and senior management officials, oversaw the elections, expressing gratitude to the technical team for their crucial role in ensuring a seamless and efficient monitoring process.
