11,280 Ganesh Idols Immersed Across Panvel Municipal Corporation Areas As Civic Body Ensures Eco-Friendly Celebrations

Eleven thousand two hundred eighty Ganesh idols were immersed in a controlled and eco-conscious manner across the Panvel Municipal Corporation areas on Sunday. The civic body arranged 106 immersion points to ensure a smooth process. The immersion ceremony took place in a spiritual ambiance, with steps taken to maintain an environment-friendly celebration under the 'Utsav Ganrayacha, Jagar Paryavaranacha' campaign, launched as part of the Majhi Vasundhara 7.0 initiative.

Among the 106 points, 29 were natural sites and 77 were artificial ponds. These locations were equipped with necessary facilities such as security personnel, electricity, CCTV cameras, stages, towers, tables, chairs, public address systems, nirmalya collection urns, and life jackets. Collaboration extended to various departments, including construction, health, electrical, licensing, stores, transport, medical, and environment departments.

Additionally, NGOs and social organizations assisted the municipal administration. Regular inspections by municipal officials and representatives ensured a seamless operation. Emergency teams, comprising the fire brigade, traffic police, and various departments, were deployed to manage crowds, ensure safety, and maintain cleanliness.

The medical and health department provided first-aid facilities at each immersion location. Recognizing responsible celebrations, the civic body appreciated citizens who immersed their idols in artificial ponds by awarding them appreciation certificates.
