Ruto Delivers New Prado to Luo Council of Elders Chairman

Kisumu, Kenya - President William Ruto fulfilled a promise to the Luo Council of Elders by presenting a new Toyota Prado vehicle to their chairman, Mzee Odungi Randa, on Saturday. The delivery occurred during a ceremony attended by members and leaders of the Luo Council of Elders. Randa recalled that Ruto had made the commitment in March when the council's leadership visited him at State House.

Later, Randa reminded the President about the promise during a meeting at Homa Bay State Lodge, leading to the eventual vehicle delivery. "President Ruto promised us this vehicle in March when I visited him at State House. When I later met him at Homa Bay State Lodge, I reminded him about the promise, and today he has fulfilled it," Randa stated.

The Toyota Prado will enable Randa to travel more easily across Kenya and neighboring countries while fulfilling his responsibilities and engaging with the Luo community. "I will use this vehicle to visit our people across the region and beyond. I intend to engage Luos in Uganda, Tanzania and South Sudan, as well as those living in Mombasa and Nairobi," Randa explained.

He emphasized that the Luo Council of Elders would continue to promote cultural identity, preserve traditions, and strengthen ties within the community. Randa also urged members of the Luo community to support President Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election, noting that Raila Odinga had placed the Luo community in Ruto's hands upon his passing.

As political alliances and community leadership intensify in the lead-up to the 2027 General Election, the handover of the Prado marks the fulfillment of a commitment made earlier in the year and underscores the ongoing importance of cultural identity, cohesion, and leadership discussions among community elders.
