Police’s conflicting identities for ‘Ghana Jollof’ embarrassing – Lawyer for remanded nurse

The lawyer representing Salomey Awiti Bafoh, Afoakwa, has expressed embarrassment over conflicting identities attributed to the person behind the "Ghana Jollof" social media account by the Ghana Police Service. In May 2025, a charge sheet listed a person named Alberta Okrah as "Ghana Jollof" and marked her as at large. Now, in connection with his client's case, the police have identified "Ghana Jollof" as Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, also listed as being at large.

Afoakwa questioned the Ghana Police Service's ability to conduct thorough investigations in light of this discrepancy. The charge sheet from 2025, filed against three accused persons, initially named Alberta Okrah as "Ghana Jollof," while Bafoh's case lists her as Barbara Asantewaa Kodua. The lawyer highlighted that the police CID, at the national headquarters, charged the "Ghana Jollof" account with three different identities.

Reports circulating on social media speculated that Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, the individual behind the "Ghana Jollof" account, had passed away. However, Afoakwa said he did not rely on these reports as established facts. If confirmed, they would add further uncertainty to the identity attributed to the "Ghana Jollof" account.
