Police’s conflicting identities for ‘Ghana Jollof’ embarrassing – Afoakwa

Senior nursing officer Salomey Awiti Bafoh's lawyer, Enoch Anhwere Afoakwa, has raised concerns over the conflicting identities attributed to the social media account "Ghana Jollof" by the Ghana Police Service. The lawyer, who is part of the NPP legal team, found the situation embarrassing and questioned the police's ability to conduct thorough investigations.

Afoakwa pointed out that a charge sheet filed in May 2025 identified "Ghana Jollof" as Alberta Okrah, who was listed as at large. However, in a recent case involving his client, the police have identified "Ghana Jollof" as Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, also described as at large. Afoakwa questioned the identity of Ghana Jollof, expressing embarrassment over the police's inability to run cogent investigations to establish a clear identity.

The lawyer highlighted that the 2025 charge sheet listed three accused persons, with Alberta Okrah being the second accused, and contrasted it with the current charge sheet naming Barbara Asantewaa Kodua as "Ghana Jollof." Moreover, Afoakwa pointed out that the police have traced electronic money transactions allegedly linked to the person behind the account.

He also mentioned reports circulating on social media alleging that Barbara Asantewaa Kodua had died, though he emphasized that he was not relying on those reports as established facts. If confirmed, those reports would further complicate the issue of the identity attributed to the "Ghana Jollof" account.
