Manchester United U18s thrash Wolves 6-0 as Jay McEvoy stars at Carrington

On Saturday morning, Manchester United's Under-18s team faced off against Wolverhampton Wanderers U18s at Carrington. Darren Fletcher fielded a younger side in the match, with first-year scholars taking on Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are currently at the bottom of the table.

United dominated from the beginning, forcing Wolves to stay deep in their own half due to the congested conditions. Jay McEvoy had an early opportunity in the 15th minute with a dipping shot from 20 yards that hit the top netting. Harlem McLaughlin had an effort blocked off the goal after a corner was cleared to him near the edge of the area.

It wasn't until the 40th minute that United scored their first goal, with Junior Brown scoring from a penalty after McEvoy played a through ball. Camron Mpofu converted the penalty, finding the bottom corner. Just before halftime, Jariyah Shah scored a world-class goal, cutting inside from the right and smashing the ball into the top left corner with his weaker foot. In the second half, McLaughlin and Brown both shot narrowly wide in the opening minutes.

Captain Jay McEvoy scored the third goal from the right from 25 yards out just off the hour mark. Substitute Edson Dejonge-Seiros added a fourth goal with a low, side-footed strike after Jacob Watson headed the ball down across the box. The goals continued to pile up, and in the 70th minute, Douka Nkoto's cross was inadvertently turned in by the Wolves defender to make it 5-0.

Dejonge-Seiros finished off the scoring late on, playing through McEvoy to run into the box and finish low past the keeper. Manchester United secured their fifth consecutive win, with an unblemished record of not conceding a single goal during this run.
