Kudus, Djiku return a boost to Black Stars – Agyemang-Badu

Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has expressed his delight at the return of Mohammed Kudus and Alexander Djiku to the Black Stars squad ahead of the country's upcoming matches. Ghana will take on Côte d’Ivoire on September 24, host The Gambia at home on September 29, and travel to Morocco for a friendly game against Atlas Lions on October 4.

Agyemang-Badu believes that Kudus' return is particularly timely, especially given the absence of Joel Partey. He stated, "I think we need him at this particular time. Especially in this kind of game, when you are missing somebody like Partey, you need this kind of character to lead the team." Agyemang-Badu also expressed optimism about Kudus' fitness after his recent injury setback, stating that the club allowing him to return indicates he is gradually regaining his form. However, he could not confirm his current level of fitness.

Regarding Djiku, the former defender praised his experience and maturity, crucial qualities for the Black Stars. "Djiku, as usual, everybody knows him. Unfortunately, before the World Cup, he got injured, but he came back and he was playing. We need the maturity at the back of our defence as well. So, it's good for the team that both are here," Agyemang-Badu said. He believes the experienced duo's presence will be beneficial for Ghana as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures.
