Iranian foreign minister: Middle East security cannot be imposed from outside

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserts that lasting security in the Middle East is not something that can be forced from the outside. He emphasizes that regional dialogue and cooperation are essential for achieving sustainable peace, rather than relying on foreign intervention. Araghchi warns against double standards in international law, stating that the rule of law cannot be selectively applied based on the interests of powerful nations.

He clarifies that human rights must be viewed as universal principles, not as privileges granted to select countries. Araghchi argues that military presence, wars, interventions, sanctions, and force have become commonplace in international politics, and these actions do not contribute to security. Instead, he maintains that dialogue, confidence-building, and mutual respect among regional states are the keys to lasting security and stability in the Middle East.
