Bukit Aman’s USJT takes over probe into viral theatre clip mocking Rukun Negara

According to the Bukit Aman CID unit, a theatre production video has been the subject of an investigation due to its alleged mockery of the Rukun Negara and racially insensitive remarks. Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus confirmed that the investigation by the USJT of the criminal investigation department will be conducted in the Jalan Tun Razak police station area.

The ten-minute video clip features five actors reciting each principle of the Rukun Negara while using statements that could be perceived as racially sensitive. A preliminary review indicated that the video's content may cause public concern and impact social harmony. The performance is believed to have taken place during the Theatre for The Arts event in 2018 and was later re-uploaded by a group for Malaysia Day celebrations.
