Bukit Aman’s USJT takes over probe into viral theatre clip mocking Rukun Negara

KUALA LUMPUR: The Bukit Aman CID unit has launched an investigation into a viral theatre performance video that may be mocking the Rukun Negara, the nation's fundamental principles, and containing racially insensitive remarks. The 10-minute clip, recorded during the Theatre for The Arts event in 2018, has been re-uploaded for the recent Malaysia Day celebrations.

According to the Kuala Lumpur police chief, a report was lodged at the Jalan Tun Razak police station at 8:30pm yesterday. If found guilty, the individuals involved could face criminal charges. The investigation, which will be conducted by the USJT, may result in several more police reports being lodged nationwide, as the content could potentially cause public concern and impact social harmony.
