I wish Charlie Boy had resembled his father — Obasanjo

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo expressed his wish that popular entertainer Charles Oputa, widely known as Charlie Boy, would have resembled his late father, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa. Obasanjo made this statement in an interview with media personality Bae U, recounting his initial impression of Charlie Boy and his changing perspective after witnessing Charlie Boy's care for his own father.

Initially, Obasanjo described Charlie Boy as "Jaga Jaga" and knew little about him. However, after visiting Justice Oputa and seeing how Charlie Boy was taking care of him, Obasanjo's opinion of the entertainer changed. He praised Justice Oputa, calling him a great man, and admitted that his feelings towards Charlie Boy shifted once he witnessed the care Charlie Boy exhibited towards his father.

Obasanjo noted that Charlie Boy also cared for his mother, a humorous woman, which further contributed to his positive impression of the entertainer.
