Macklemore recently pledged a $1 million donation to Palestinian relief organizations after being dropped by Ed Sheeran for making pro-Palestinian comments. The rapper, known for his advocacy of Palestinian rights, plans to donate his net earnings from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour to support those affected by the conflict. Other recipients of the funds include Medical Aid for Palestinians, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and UNRWA.

The contributions have renewed public awareness of the struggles faced by Palestinians, with Tareq Hailat, the director of strategic engagement at Palestine Children's Relief Fund, expressing gratitude for the attention. Israeli operations have killed over 1,000 Palestinians since a ceasefire last October, and hundreds of thousands continue to face healthcare challenges and water shortages.

Macklemore has previously donated to UNRWA through royalties from his protest anthems, contributing over $509,000. His latest gift is already inspiring others, including YouTube star Ms. Rachel, who pledged $1 million to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, whose company owns Gillette Stadium where Sheeran is scheduled to perform, has committed to matching Sheeran's $2 million donation.
