Chema Andres added a third goal in the second half, securing the win for Brighton.

Arteta expressed disappointment, acknowledging Brighton's dominance and their superiority as the better team. "We have to congratulate Brighton for the victory, they truly deserve it," Arteta stated. "They were the better team. Our side lacked the fundamental elements needed in the Premier League." Arsenal had been expected to secure the title following their 22-year wait to claim the English championship last season.

The Gunners had enjoyed a strong start, winning their first seven matches in all competitions prior to the Brighton defeat.
