EPL: I don’t know – Arteta gives update on signing new Arsenal contract

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reassured fans there is "nothing to worry about" concerning his contract situation. The manager, whose current deal expires at the end of the 2026/27 season, made the statement during a pre-match conference ahead of Arsenal's Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion. Arteta expressed his alignment with the club's approach to contract negotiations, stating, "I think we are all very much aligned; whenever the time is right, we'll get that done.

There is nothing to be concerned about." The manager was also queried about his previous contract negotiations two years ago during an international break and whether a similar timing could occur for his next deal. Arteta responded, "I don’t know if the timing will be the same or different, I think we both have the same ambition and the same will, so whenever we have time we’ll get that resolved."

Arteta's tenure at Arsenal began in December 2019, and he has led the club to the Premier League's top echelons, securing the FA Cup in 2020 and three consecutive runner-up finishes in the league between 2022/23 and 2024/25. In addition to contract matters, Arteta discussed Arsenal's commitment to developing young talent, emphasizing the club's approach to combining its academy pathway with strategic recruitment to maintain its competitive level.
