Cheating cases, business dispute: What police found about accused in Delhi man’s killing

Anya Vats, a woman accused of killing Yuvraj Singh Manchanda in Gurugram, is currently under investigation by Delhi Police for a series of alleged offenses. According to senior police officers, Anya, her partner Sanyam, and Yuvraj had previously worked together at Emaar. In 2022, Anya was reportedly fired for financial mismanagement at the company. Yuvraj subsequently left Emaar to join another firm, eventually becoming a manager at Adani Realty.

During a background check, three separate cases against Anya surfaced. The first case involved allegations that she posed as a government official to defraud people, leading to a complaint and a registration at Parliament Street police station. The second case, registered in Greater Noida, also stemmed from allegations of financial misconduct, as reported by Punjab National Bank.

The third case, filed by Sanyam's first wife, accused Anya and Sanyam of domestic violence. This case, currently pending a divorce, is being investigated by Shahdara police station.

Sources indicate that Yuvraj and Anya were once colleagues at Emaar, where Anya allegedly engaged in financial mismanagement. She later transitioned to freelance real estate agent work. Sanyam also joined a different company after leaving Emaar. Police are currently probing the possibility of a business dispute between the two, based on initial interrogation results suggesting professional disagreements over real estate deals.

They are also examining Anya's bank accounts, which reportedly show multiple high-value transactions but lack substantial liquid cash.
