Charsadda woman alleges lawmakers trying to grab her land

PESHAWAR—A woman from Shabqadar alleges that PTI lawmakers, aided by police, are attempting to confiscate her family's 24 kanals of residential land under the guise of constructing a school access road. At a press conference on Saturday, Mujeeda Bibi, daughter of Manda Khan, and her brothers Marwat Khan and Abdul Razzaq appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the inspector general of police for protection and an investigation into the alleged incident.

Ms. Mujeeda, who resides in Daryab Korona in Matta Mughalkhel, reported that her home was attacked by the MNA and MPA, along with police assistance, resulting in violence against women and children. She claimed that machinery was brought to demolish their houses, which spanned 24 kanals of land, ostensibly for the construction of a school access road. "There is already a road leading to the school," she questioned, "why are our houses being demolished under the pretext of constructing a school road?"

Ms. Mujeeda further alleged that her family had been threatened with kidnapping and murder, which has prevented her children from attending school or a religious seminary for the past three months. She implored the police chief, chief secretary, and chief minister to safeguard her family and take action against those involved in the incident.

Additionally, Ms. Mujeeda alleged that Mr. Taj had previously occupied approximately 320 kanals of land in Daryab Korona, where an LPG plant and a stone-crushing plant were established. She also accused him of obtaining a license to sell explosives, despite a provincial ban on such activities. Ms. Mujeeda called for an investigation into her claims and demanded action against the police officials who allegedly aided in the attack and attempted land seizure.
