Police arrest two suspects, recover tricycle, generator in Calabar

The Cross River State Police Command has apprehended two individuals and seized a potentially stolen tricycle and a generator in separate incidents in Calabar South. Testimony Ene, aged 22, and Promise Sunday Patrick, aged 18, were taken into custody on Tuesday after receiving tips from the public. ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, a spokesperson for the police, revealed that Ene was apprehended in Mayne Avenue, Calabar South, while allegedly attempting to sell a tricycle with registration number AZA 504 QJ.

According to preliminary investigations, Ene allegedly pilfered the tricycle from Akwa Ibom State and transported it to Calabar for disposal. The tricycle was secured as evidence, and authorities are currently working to trace its original owner. Meanwhile, Promise Sunday Patrick was arrested in the Nyawawo community, Calabar South, allegedly in the possession of a yellow Fireman generator.

Patrick reportedly informed investigators that the generator had been stolen from a church on Nyawawo Street. The generator has also been recovered, and the police are conducting further investigations to determine its rightful owner and the circumstances surrounding its theft. The suspects are expected to face prosecution if the investigations confirm their involvement.
