According to the police, the suspects admitted to belonging to a larger gang involved in armed robbery across the three locations. Two victims were identified by police and reported the incidents, revealing that the gang stole two Yamaha scooters valued at GH¢30,000.00 and GH¢32,000.00 respectively. The victims were threatened with death if they informed the authorities.
The suspects reportedly confessed to the armed robbery and stated that weapons for the operation were provided by another suspect from Bawku. This unnamed person is believed to supply weapons for the gang. During searches at the suspects' homes, police recovered two unregistered motorbikes, suspected drugs, and GH¢29,550.00 cash, believed to be the proceeds of their criminal activities.
The seven suspects have been transferred to the Bolgatanga Circuit Court and are expected to appear in court on September 23, 2026.
