Pengampunan bersyarat Najib bukan keputusan PM atau PH, tegas Wanita PKR

Wanita PKR Fadhlina Sidek clarified that Najib Razak's conditional pardon was not a decision made by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim or Pakatan Harapan (PH), emphasizing that it was the prerogative of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Fadhlina reminded that the pardon is within the authority of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as stipulated by the Constitution.

The party respects the decision and underscores the importance of upholding the institution of the King. On Facebook, she warned against obscuring the institution's position or portraying the decision as a political move by the Prime Minister or PH. Previously, the Federal Territory Rehabilitation Committee (LPWP) permitted Najib to serve his remaining prison term under house arrest until August 23, 2028, through a conditional pardon.

The decision is subject to a RM50 million fine and adherence to specified conditions. This development has prompted Parti Bersatu Malaysia leader Rafizi Ramli to urge Anwar Ibrahim and PH leadership to reveal all conditions imposed on Najib's house arrest. Fadhlina acknowledged that the conditional pardon of Najib certainly elicits various reactions, acknowledging the dissatisfaction and anger of some individuals.

People have the right to express their opinions and seek explanations. The government remains responsible for providing explanations to the public, she said. Najib is currently serving a reduced six-year prison sentence in the SRC International case, as the Supreme Court rejected his final appeal in the case. Anwar reportedly stated that the pardon does not diminish the principle of the government continuing to take strong action against all corruption and abuse of power cases.
