NIA marks Identity Day with public education float, mass registration exercise

The National Identification Authority (NIA) commemorated Identity Day and its 20th anniversary on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with a public education float and a mass registration exercise in Accra. The activities aimed to raise public awareness about the Authority's identification services and make registration opportunities more accessible to residents.

The float journeyed from the NIA Head Office through key streets of Shiashie and Accra Mall before concluding at the Legon Business School. There, NIA officials interacted with the public, informing them about the Authority's services, locations of district, premium, and prestige centers, and associated fees. Following the float, a special mass registration exercise took place at the Legon Business School, allowing school community members to register and access NIA services.

These events highlighted the NIA's commitment to enhancing public awareness and accessibility to identification services as part of its Identity Day celebrations. The festivities are set to conclude on Saturday with an inter-agency sports competition at Legon Sports Stadium.
