Four persons killed in road accidents in Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai

Two separate road accidents claimed the lives of four individuals in Ranipet and Tiruvannamalai districts on Friday. The victims identified included a father and daughter, R. Suresh Babu, 48, and his daughter Madhumita, 21. Another set of victims consisted of B. Sundaram, 33, and J. Thangaraj, 34, who perished in a collision near Tiruvannamalai.

The first incident occurred when Suresh Babu, a private firm employee, was driving with his daughter Madhumita to a relative's house in Tiruttani for a family function. The couple was on a two-wheeler when Babu lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with a government bus near Sholinghur. Both Babu and Madhumita were thrown from the two-wheeler and were pronounced dead upon arrival at the Government Taluk Hospital in Sholinghur.

In the second unfortunate accident, B. Sundaram, 33, J. Thangaraj, 34, and Selvaraj, 36, were returning to their hometown after dropping off a friend at Chennai airport. Sundaram, the driver of the car, lost control and collided with a lorry on the Vandavasi–Chetpet Main Road. The impact was severe, crushing the car, and Sundaram was killed instantly. Thangaraj succumbed to his injuries while en route to the Government Medical College Hospital in Tiruvannamalai. Selvaraj is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.

The lorry driver, K. Anbu, was arrested by the police, and a case has been registered. Ongoing investigations are being conducted by the Chetpet police to determine the exact circumstances surrounding these tragic road accidents.
