🚨 England: Tuchel’s squad, Palmer and TAA back!

Chelsea suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford, exposing the Premier League champions' defensive vulnerabilities. This loss shakes the confidence of Xabi Alonso, who has been in charge of the Blues since the former Real Madrid coach took over. After a strong start to the season, Chelsea has managed only one point from their last three league games.

In their latest match, Brentford's Jaidon Anthony, Igor Thiago, and Fabio Carvalho scored the goals that leave the Bees above their west London rivals in third place in the table.

The loss of Joao Pedro to a knee injury dampened Chelsea's free-flowing attacking play. With Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers held in check by Brentford, the Spaniard brought in four changes, including starting Jordan Henderson for his first appearance against the Blues' former club. Brentford emerged as the more potent side in the second half, with Jannick Schuster scoring the opener from a corner.

Despite Chelsea's attempts to equalize, they were caught off guard in counter-attacks, leading to Thiago's goal, which marked the Brazilian's first Premier League goal. In the dying moments, Schade's deflected cross was headed in by Carvalho to leave Chelsea's goalkeeper, Emi Martinez, helpless. Brentford's 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge widens the gap between them and Chelsea, emphasizing the challenge Alonso faces to transform the team into title contenders once again.
